Cremona (CR), 13 September 2023 – GREEN OLEO S.p.A. <\/em><\/strong>(<\/em>the “Company” <\/strong>or “GREEN OLEO”<\/strong>) <\/em>– one of the leading European producers of fine oleochemicals from renewable sources, announces that it has completed the REACH registration process to produce Medium Chain Triglycerides (medium chain triglycerides, commonly known as MCTs).<\/p>\n

MCTs are esters from highly versatile 100% renewable sources with applications ranging from Life Sciences to industrial uses. More specifically, MCTs find application as an emollient in skin care, as a dispersant for the use of pigments in colour cosmetics, as a basis for lubricants in the food and food contact sectors, without forgetting the important future use in the pharmaceutical industry. These new products therefore represent an optimal integration of the company’s product portfolio as, in the short term, they will allow it to strengthen its presence in two areas of great interest, namely cosmetics and high-performance industrial lubrication. Sampling for both Italian and foreign customers started in August. GREEN OLEO therefore expects to receive the first industrial orders at the beginning of Q4 2023 and that the MCTs can subsequently contribute more substantially to the company\u2019s turnover from 2024.<\/p>\n

GREEN OLEO S.p.A. is one of Europe’s leading producers of fine oleochemicals from renewable sources, based in Cremona (CR), established in 2012, in the context of the purchase by the Buzzella family of the entire capital of the Company, through the transfer of a branch of business, historically active since 1925 in oleochemical production and previously owned by Croda Cremona S.r.l.
\nThe company uses local raw materials, such as by-products of food industry processing (acid oils mainly from olive trees and animal fat), which undergo internal chemical processes such as splitting, distillation, separation, fractionation and hydrogenation, to obtain multiple oleochemical products such as distilled fatty acids with different purities depending on the starting fat, stearic acids (stearins), oleic acid, glycerins, fatty acid derivatives (soaps), esters. The Company operates in the Cremona plant and covers an area of 64,000 square metres (of which about 20,000 square metres are covered), where 75 resources are employed, with an annual production capacity of 65,000 tons, of which 50,000 tons are fatty acids and glycerines and 15,000 tons are esters.
\nGreen Oleo\u2019s customers are industrial companies operating in multiple sectors such as detergents, elastomers, candles, paints, rubber and tyres, personal care and cosmetics, which, through further processes specific to the target sector, produce the final products for end- consumer.<\/em><\/p>\n
